Performance of a small impeller model 


The small size impeller model, represented beside, was tested in practice. The overall rotation system was defined by an inertia momentum of 0.15 kg.m^{2}. The tests, consisted in measuring the angular frequency in RPM of the rotation system as a function of the flow velocity Vt. According to the obtained results, the system started rotating for a flow velocity of approximately 0.5 m/s (1 knot), attaining an angular frequency of 100 RPM for a flow velocity of 2.5 m/s (5 knots).
